The tourism industry is proud to be launching the new Destination Marketing Organisation “Tourism Suncoast”.
“Tourism Suncoast” is a wholly new Regional Destination Marketing Organisation in Fiji created by the private sector to promote tourism along the northern coast of Viti Levu.
New DMO Tourism Suncoast
The Suncoast encompasses the north coast of Viti Levu all the way from Vatia in Tavua, along the coast to Nalawa in the east, and into the heartland of the island’s mountains and ridges. Boasting some of the world’s best scuba diving and watersports, as well as the endless summer sun, the Suncoast is an ideal location for a tropical sun drenched vacation and holiday.
Mr Allan Carter, General Manager of Wananavu Beach Resort on the Suncoast said, “We are delighted to be part of this DMO and to work to bring all the tourism partners on the Suncoast together.”
“The north coast of Viti Levu is within easy driving distance of Nadi Airport, an even closer drive from Suva, and boasts the most annual days of sun of any tourism area in Fiji. With the recent growth in demand for the area, there has been a boom in the number of hotel rooms available and, indeed, new resorts opening up. Now is the perfect time for us all to work together to promote this blossoming Suncoast destination in Fiji”
“Our new logo and brand epitomises the spirit and essence of the region with the sun, ocean colours, and playful script. It encompasses the endless sun and fun that the Suncoast offers to tourists in Fiji”.
He continued, “This would not have been possible without the support of the Market Development Facility (MDF)”. MDF is supported by the Australian Government and implemented by Cardno – invests in innovative businesses to stimulate economic growth in a number of countries across the Asia Pacific region.”
In line with the Fiji Government’s Green Growth Framework, “Tourism Suncoast” is encouraging the growth of tourism to areas of Viti Levu other than the crowded west of Fiji, spreading their footprint and tourism dollars to communities throughout the country.
Mr Faiyaz Koya Honorable Minister for Industry, Trade & Tourism, announced the new Regional DMO at the annual Tourism Fiji Industry Day held at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on 20th October 2015. He said, ”The launching of the new DMO will drive more tourists around the country, thereby sharing the wealth and opportunities that the Tourism Industry can provide to all Fijians.”
Mr Truman Bradley, Executive Chairman Tourism Fiji stated “The advent of Regional DMO’s at this time is excellent and fully supported by Tourism Fiji. This will allow better communications and joint campaigns to be run to boost Fiji’s image and presence overseas.”
