Talanoa Treks on Fiji’s Suncoast has won the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Award 2015 for best visitor attraction and activity!
Although the awards ceremony came the day before Tropical Cyclone Winston, Matt and Marita have now had a chance to enjoy sharing the award with the communities and people who help give their guests a great experience and make Talanoa Treks a success.
Marita says “From the villages of Nubutautau, Naga, Nabalesere, and Navai, to the Tui Wailevu and his wife Biu in Wailotua, to Laite in Korovou market who provides us with fresh cut pineapple, to Bulou’s Lodge and Stonebowl Lodge, to the team at conservation NGO NatureFiji-MareqetiViti, to Thomas at TANZ Autos and the team at Asco Motors who keep our vehicles running, to the gang at Bulaccino, and so many more friends, supporters, and of course guests – they have all played their part in making Talanoa Treks what it is today.”
She continued “Our close season during the most humid months is now over, and we’re excited to be up and running again back amongst the hills, rivers, forests and communities in the heart of Fiji!”

ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Award
Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards celebrates the outstanding performance of those who have made exceptional contributions to our tourism industry.
In 1991 with the introduction of the first Tourism Week, the Fiji Visitors Bureau and the Ministry of Tourism introduced the first Excellence in Tourism Awards sponsored by the Fiji Times, there were 10 Awards Winners.
Since then The Fiji Excellence in Tourism awards is run annually by a voluntary committee of industry members, overseen by the board of trustees to invite nominations, organise judging and hold a gala event for the prize giving to honour those outstanding members in our industry.
FETA’s mission is to recognise individuals and organisations who have gone that extra mile to develop National Tourism and in so doing, have inspired others to share their vision of a buoyant and enduring service industry of supreme national importance.
